Early days but the signals are genuinely good.
The Hopeful Green Flag is what all the other pages on this site are secretly measuring against. He texts back at human speed. He asks questions and remembers the answers. 'We should do something' arrives pre-loaded with a day of the week. It's early — but the signals are the good kind.
And if your last few chapters were breadcrumbs and cold snaps, this will feel almost suspicious. The absence of anxiety reads as absence of chemistry. It isn't. It's what interest looks like when nobody's playing.
The signs
- ·He initiates about as often as you do. The effort split feels roughly even without anyone keeping score.
- ·Questions, and follow-ups on the answers. He's building a file on you (the good kind). Curiosity is the most reliable early signal there is.
- ·Plans have dates in them. 'Thursday?' — the single most attractive word in the language.
- ·The pace is steady between the dates. No post-date vanishing act, no hot-cold. Tuesday him and Saturday him are the same person.

He logged your Tuesday problem and came back for the result. That's attention with follow-through — rarer than it should be.

Direct, warm, calendar attached. No games to decode is not a trick. Sometimes the text means the text.
The play
The main job with a hopeful green flag isn't vetting him — it's not sabotaging it:
- ·Don't import the last guy's crimes. He hasn't earned suspicion just because someone else did. Read his texts, not your history.
- ·Match, don't test. Return the energy honestly. Manufacturing distance to 'see if he chases' teaches a secure person you're not available — and only excites the chaotic ones.
- ·Let time do the verifying. Early-good is a hypothesis, not a verdict. Consistency over weeks is the only proof, and you get it by simply letting the weeks happen.
